My name is Brittany, I am 19 years old, and I have a 5 month old son named Daniel. Only a few months after graduating, I became pregnant. The father was there for me through all of my pregnancy, and even a few months afterwards. I received a scholarship for college for having such good grades and SAT scores, so thankfully I can still atend school while still taking care of my son. The problem is, I have been living with the baby's father and HIS parents for the past year. He works for his parents, so they take advantage of that and only pay him when we are down to nothing. I grew tired of this lifestyle. I know my baby deserves more-at the least a place of our own! I want to move out and be independent, but I can't find a job anywhere, or anyone to watch my baby even if I do get one! I've tried applying for aid, but I think to qualify I need a job. I just wish I could get some help just getting on my feet. It seems there is no way to even get started on my own. It's hard enough going to school full-time, but I know that I have to in order to secure a good future for my baby and myself. I wonder if I will ever have anything before I graduate college in the next four years! I just really need a way out of this situation I am in. I know most people look at a teen pregnancy and think " she got herself into this mess", but I really am trying hard to get things in order. I love being a mom and I wouldn't change it for anything. My son deserves so much in life, and I know with the right help getting started, I could give him so many things!
